Ingredients:

4 Chicken Drumptics and 3 Chicken Thighs with skin and bone. (Alternatively you can use 1 whole chicken cut into pieces)

Ingredients for spice mix:

Salt to taste
3 tsp smoked paprika
3 tsp onion flakes (alternatively you can use onion powder)
3 tsp garlic powder
3 tsp hot cayenne powder
1 tsp black pepper powder
1.5 tsp oregano flakes
1 tsp basil
1 tsp hot paprika

Other ingredients for the marinade:

4-5 bay leaves
juice of 1 fresh lemon
40 gms greek yoghurt
50 ml water
3 tsps of hot sauce

Ingredients for hot sauce:

50 gms butter
50 gms olive oil
2 tsps spice mix
Salt to taste
3 tsps stevia (more or less depending on how sweet or spicy you prefer your sauce, 3 tsp is good enough for mild spicy)
2 tsps garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp hot cayenne pepper
3 tsp hot sauce

Other ingredients:
120 gms unflavoured whey protein isolate powder
oil for deep frying

Method:

Add all ingredients mentioned in the spice mix to a bown/jar and mix them very well. Spice mix is ready

Take out 5 tsps of spice mix to another bowl and add 3-4 bay leaves, juice of 1 fresh lemon, 40 gms greek yoghurt, 50 ml water and 3 tsp of hot sauce to it. Mix it very well.

Add chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well. Refrigerate for minimum 4 hours in the fridge.

To prepare the hot sauce:

Add butter and olive oil in a pan on low heat. Add 2 tsps of the spice mix to this and add all other ingredients mentined in “ingredients for hot sauce”. Mix it well, keep cooking for 2 more minutes after the butter melts. Let it cool.

After 4 hours of sitting in the fridge, take out the chicken pieces from the marinade and discard excess marinade into the leftover marinade with your hands.

Add 1 large egg to the leftover marinade and mix it very well.

Add oil to your deep frying pan and heat it on medium heat.

In a seperate container, mix whey protein with the remaining spice mix.

Now, coat the chicken pieces (one by one) first with whey, then egg wash and one more time with whey. Make sure that the pieces are coated with whey from all sides. Immediately add them (one by one) to the hot oil in your deep frying pan. Cook them from each side on medium heat for 6-7 minutes and you are done.

Gently rub the pieces with the hot sauce and its ready to go in your belly 🙂
